Life at Ayang
At Ayang, love is not an abstract idea but a practice that shapes how we work with one another every day. Rooted in the meaning of Ayang itself, our workplace culture is built on care, trust, and mutual accountability. This allows us to create spaces where people feel respected, heard, and supported as they learn and grow together.
Because our work is deeply relational with children, women, and communities across Northeast India, the way we relate to one another within the organisation matters deeply. The trust and solidarity we build as a team directly influence the trust we are able to build with the communities we work alongside. Our internal culture strengthens our ability to work with sensitivity, responsibility, and long term commitment.
Being headquartered in Majuli Island shapes both our perspective and our practice. Living and working in a place defined by water, movement, and resilience has taught us the importance of patience, adaptability, and collective responsibility. These values influence not only our programmes but also how we collaborate internally and respond to change together.

Celebrations &
Collective Life
Shared moments of celebration are central to sustaining our sense of community. We observe Bihu, Ali Aye Ligang, our Foundation Day, and Celebratory Saturdays as opportunities to pause, reflect, and come together. These moments of joy and togetherness strengthen bonds that carry into our everyday work.
Growing Together
Annual retreats and team building spaces allow us to step away from routine and reconnect with one another. These spaces encourage reflection, shared learning, and deeper empathy across teams, helping us realign with Ayang’s purpose and values. They ensure that how we work remains as intentional as what we work towards.
